Open Positions
Research in the interface analysis group is directed towards the atomic and electronic structure of surfaces and thin films of technologically interesting materials like graphene and transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs). The goal of these research activities is a fundamental understanding of growth, interface and crystal formation and elecronic structure at the atomic scale. A major research project at present is the growth and manipulation of electronic properties of epitaxial graphene on SiC.
Open positions:
- Master and diploma theses in physics.
- In the moment we don't have open positions for PhD or PostDoc candidates. However, highly motivated candidates can directly contact U. Starke to discuss possibilities to work in our group.
Possible research projects are :
- Intercalation and doping of epitaxial graphene on SiC
- Structured epitaxial graphene
- 2D materials
- Molecular layers on surfaces
If you wish to apply for a position you should have at least one of the following:
- A comprehensive solid state physics knowledge.
- Studied surface and/or interface physics (for Diploma or masters).
- Practical experience in surface science and ultra-high vacuum (postdoctoral candidates).
- Diplom or masters students must be enrolled in a physics program.
